Tempted to get one, don't like carrying an extra visor, and an S800 fitted me quite ok.

Does anyone own one? Opinions, feedback...?

Cheers

The internal sun visor & slider is great, HJC have the slider on the top of the helmet which feels cheap & brakable, unlike the new design on the Vision just behind the ear pod.

I find the chin bar rather huge but persoanl preferances really.

A very good helmet at a great price. Currently have a RSI which replaced a RSX and was looking to upgrade to the Vision R but the fit is not quite right for me. Am going to wait for the new Speed R instead. A colleague has a Vision R and he is really pleased with it. Try one to make sure it fits - if it does you will not be dissapointed.

Speed R? What's that and when is it supposed to be out?

I've always had Shark S800 lids, and when replacing the last one, really wanted the one with the internal visor. The problem I found was that the internal visor sat on my nose in an uncomfortable manner, and I should imagine wouldn't be pleasant if I was to have an off.
I tried many different ones of the Shark internal visor range, both small and xtra small, they were all differing in size, and all bounced me on the nose.

I ended up going for a HJC one, as it was a much better fit, and the internal visor much better....down side is its far more noisy than a Shark lid.....and thats somewhat hard to believe! the mechanism is a little flimsy over the top, but its not failed yet, and is quite easy to get the hang of.

It also gets mistaken for a Shoei of a similar paint design......me and Peg keep getting them mixed up, they look extremely similar !

Yeah, the S800 sat on my head pretty comfortably, but I had the same issue (visor-nose) with an s900 (?).

Think I'll have a chance to try on a VisionR if Shark will be at the bikeshow in Edinburgh again, if not likely I'll be getting a S800

By the way Dyz.....the HJC comes pinlock ready too!!

Pinlock started to annoy me for some reason. Maybe it's just the Arai I have just now, I need to tilt the head back more or else it's in my line of sight.

The VisionR has an option to leave your visor slightly open, that should help.

I have one, great lid no need for pinlock or the likes as it has some anti-fog coating. Agv do a Stealth sv which also has the internal sun visor. I had the agv for awhile what a waste of money that was. I returned two of them with problems and waited for the vision-R. The shark lids are way ahead in finish and build quality.

Aye, and the antifog coat stops working after a while and lifts itself from the visor, right in the middle of your eyeline......have had several Shark visors do this, they ain't cheap, and its most annoying, especially in Winter when you wear specs!! Suppose it depends if you use your helmet a lot....... I used to!

Had you the visor long when it started to lift?

Bought one.

My previous helmets have been Medium's but this one is small and fits fine. Also there is no nose/visor problem like I had with the S900.

I'll report back in a few weeks.

Dyzio - any updates on the helmet? The Vision - R is on my shortlist for a new lid after my accident.

Still very happy with mine!

It's a tough one Jen.
Overall the lid is ok but there seems to a few small issues.

Main visor, it has an auto seal which means there's nothing holding it shut. I have a tiny air leak somewhere, you can hear air getting through.

Tinted visor, in the previous Shark I tried it rested on my nose. This one sits a bit too high and you get a bit of both (tinted and normal light) in. I've only ridden it on the Daytona and a Sprint 1050 (with lower bars) and it was fine, however if you're riding an upright bike, I'd check how the tinted visor sits in that position. You should be fine on an SVs.
It also fogs up easily in low (10C) temperatures, annoying on cold but bright mornings. I don't remember having problems on the previous Schuberths (Concept and R1).

The top vent switches get criticised for being too small to operate, but I have no problems in spring/autumn gloves. Unfortunately during the one hot day this year, I didn't notice much wind blast from them :/

Most annoying I found is the wet weather performance. It fogs up quite a bit in heavy rain at low speeds (30-40mph). You can leave the visor ajar but it doesn't help much.

Noise wise, I tend to ride with earplungs if doing more than 10 miles, would be unfair to comment.

On the positive side.
The visor is huge, you're in for a surprise once you sit on the bike.
The lining stretched a bit but still fits ok.
The strap locking mechanism, easiest to operate from the ones I've used.
Easy way of leaving the visor ajar and closing/opening it after. The autoseal means there's nothing holding it locked.
The tint on the second visor is slightly lighter than the Schuberths suits me better.

If I remember more, I'll put it down later.

Sorry to drag this thread up from the grave but I'm looking for any further opinions on the vision-R. I have the chance to buy one brand new at a good price (£140). It's this one and I qiute like the matt finish too if I'm honest.

Any new issues to report after longer usage? Anyone else bought one of these lids since the last posts in here and have anything to add? I currently have the AGV K4 and find it a bit noisy and also I work shifts so am constantly swapping visors depending if I'm on days or nights etc and hate carrying a spare one.

I've only done 2500 miles or so last year....

On the air leak noise, I think it's on the main jaw vent and not the visor. It's just a minor hissing noise, dosen't bother me anymore.

Apart from that, I pretty much stand what I wrote six months ago.
Good lid, but with a few issues.

Ok ta. I guess no further issues after a few months is a good sign? Maybe I'll take a punt as for the money I think it'll be hard to beat.

Well I've bought it today so I guess I'll be finding out for myself how good it is :). I'll add anything else I find in here for future reference, hopefully all good.

Ive found the helmet to be quite noisy (wind). But could just be me as I find it hard to find a helmet to fit my E.T. esque head.. :)

I got used to using ear plugs, when riding without I found even Schuberths noisy.
