View Full Version : Dodged a bullet
The dicky ticker issues of late Nov/Dec/Jan had led the Doc's to dig further to try and find out why, especially as all the tests were coming back with reasonable results.
Three weeks ago they find a lump the size of a golf ball on the right hand side of my spine, level with the bottom of the shoulder blade, and tenderness to the Lymph nodes in the right armpit. Dark mutterings of Lymphoma and the C-word.
More prods, pokes, scans and tests with the results on Tuesday just gone. A benign cyst that has got infected.... I don't take in much of what is said as the word benign :D:D:D bounces around inside my head.
There's lots of pills to take to get rid of the infection and, hopefully, reduce the size of it before they take the knife to it - its about the size of a small country now, and bl00dy painful but I'm mega happy.
Summer's coming and I've got my name down for the GM and I'll be doing the AR too.

Blimey that is good news Bri
Glad its not the C word, although it is, as Cyst starts with C, but much less serious ;-)

The other C is for CAKE - and I'm just browsing cup cake recipes for the AR. My poor workmates have so far had to sample Victoria Sponge, Banana Loaf, Chocolate Cake, Choc Chip Cookies, Loveheart Vanilla Cup Cakes and Lemon Drizzle sponge while I decide which will work best for AR. So what's your preference?

Good news mate. I don't know you personally like I'm sure you know many of the others here, but still nice to hear positive news like this. Enjoy your riding this coming summer. :) :smt023

I do make carrot cake but it's not sugar free, though I can look up a recipe.

Mmm, cake.... not sure weight watchers would want me having cake but for you I will. Coffee cake with thick coffee icing just like my gran used to make.

Oh yes, I must try making a coffee cake. I shall experiemt this weekend as I have to do a kids birthday cake anyway. Never minf weigh****chers. I have to sneak all my baked offerings past the cricket team Strength and Conditioning coach. His idea of a treat is a protein shake.

Splenda works ok in cakes.
Recently tried Xylotol which works better as its more crystaline than powder, but its pricey at the momet, and made from trees :p

Good news, Bri - so now make the most of the summer.
Had my prstt removed May '10 ( while the man with the knife was next to my bowels, he misheard & removed the vowels! ) so wasn't back in action until autumn. Trying to make up for those lost months.
Off at a tangent: 1st dibs a place on Lph's cupcake testing team!
