Tyre Valve Extensions?

I want to fit some sort of angled extension on to both tyre valves to make it easier and less likely to damage something when inflating the tyres. I've had mixed responses from people saying that either they are fine to use or that I should avoid using them as they sometimes leak air. I'm wanting ones that I can just leave on permanently so does anyone here use anything like this?

You can't leave them on permanently, it'll bugger the wheel balance for a start, and doesn't do the valve any good, so aren't safe to leave in place.

Use one to top the pressure up, then take it off.

Get some proper right angled valves fitted

I would suggest just getting used to using normal valves.

I have seen the mass of these extensions cause a normal straight valve to fail on opposite side.

Valve failure is not nice, loses lots of air very quickly.

You can get proper angled ones fitted next time you get new rubber. They are nice to have

as said the extentions are fine for filling but on the standard rubber valve stems they do flex a lot and could fail, the triumphs come with the metal angled ones fitted as standard as did the front on the superduke, I had the rear one change to the same on my first tyre change, think it cost about £4 extra, it does make using forecourt pumps much easier.

Cheers. Thought they wouldn't be that safe to keep on. When I go for new tyres in the summer i'll get them to replace the valves with right angled ones if there's no problem with them.
