Gaskets - pattern parts vs. OEM?

Looking at getting a clutch cover gasket and although they're only about £15 OEM, pattern ones are £8.

It's only gasket paper right....how much difference in quality can there be?

(In fact I've got a sheet of gasket paper at home, should I just make up my own?)

Never had a problem with pattern gaskets and use them all the time

I'd fit a pattern clutch cover gasket no worries (in fact I did just that this very week).

More serious stuff like head gaskets I'd probably go for OEM.

No problem with pattern head gaskets (well from Italy anyway) either, had OEM and these, exactly the same.

It depends on who the manufactorer is, unfortunatley I through the packaging away so cant recall the name.
