I used to drink a fair bit, mainly down the pub before blues matches and a few times in the house in the week.
But ive decided, along with the wife to eat and drink a bit more healthly so i dont touch a drop of alcohol in the week now and ive stopped going the football (bored of football atm) so my consumption is probably 25% of what it was.

I love cider, strongbow is favourite along with the stell one.

To be sociable, and because I like the taste. I know my limit, and stick to it. I don't do drunk, I don't like hangovers. I don't do drunk people either. Far too many painful memories of drunk spouses.

These days in the house, as we don't get out much. I used to love going to the pub, but trusted babysitters are hard to come by....that means grandparents.

Once a week, although from Valentines we had a few nights in a row, but nothing to say we are alcoholics. We may not have a drink for a fortnight now!

I do love to have a nice glass of port or two, however I really am a red wine drinker.

Many moons ago, I woke up on Xmas Day on the toilet floor, as I was too drunk Xmas Eve, and daren't leave the toilet. I swore I would never get so drunk again. Its on a very rare occasion(once a year if that), someone might have to leave the bedroom lamp on to stop the room spinning :lol:

Friday teatime, a couple of beers in the club whilst playing snooker. Saturday evening in the club may just go on to 4 or 5 beers and a couple of whisky's.

Once upon a time I'd get through a couple of bottles of whisky a week, usually drinking them in a couple of nights. And probably 5 or 6 visits to the pub a week... kids and commonsense calmed me down.

both. I'll tend to have the odd can (1-2) with a meal at home, or occasionally knock back a decent whisky. If at the pub, more likely to be 8 or so pints of bitter.

At home probably 1-2 a week, maybe once a month to the pub.

IPA at the pub or single malt. Prefer a lighter, smoother malt to heavily peated one.

I love the taste of a pint after a long days work or after a footy game, but it has a HUGE social aspect for me with my mates/workmates social lives are built around the pub/clubs nowadays.
But I also like being drunk.

Will possibly have one or 2 with a meal in the house but...
If I am going out at the weekend, usually drink in someones house from maybe 5pm to 11/12 pm then go out, Aberdeen is extortion for drink, so cheapest way.
But can go out at lunch for rugby or footy game and stay out till 3am, but thats going to cost me £80+.

3. how often do you drink?

3-5 times a week.
Thursday - Pub quiz, good few pints, maybe go out after till 2am.
Friday - Few pints after work with food, then back to my mates house, drink there till 10ish then head to a few bars/pubs then onto a club.
Saturday - If I don't have to play footy, go to pub in the afternoon and see how it goes? 90% likely I will end up out for the whole day and night.
Sunday - Go to pub in afternoon for food and footy, see how that goes.

Mon/Tues/Wed - More than likely will end up having at least a few one of these days, usually watching the footy.

Any whisky/burbon with coke will always go down nicely, if its a slow drink in the sun or something or a single drink when out and about I tend to have a pale ale.

NB: Rum and Coke (Cuba Libre) is the nutts! a Tipple I save for nights out/Holidays

Sociable mostly, I usually only drink when the company is paying as that is when I have sociable company too. I have got a taste for some spirits though (see other thread)

Mainly hotel bar, I have a small stash of miniature spirits that I'm working my way through at home but I only drink at home once every 2 months so its slow progress.

Taking both opportunities into account (work and home) then around once a month.

Currently double dark rum and coke is my staple. (although at home I quite like what I've taken to calling "Irn Kraken", Irn bru and Kraken spiced rum, unimaginatively named yet lovely!)

Had an archers 'n' lemonade at the weekend - first alcohol for 14 months.
I dont drink when the kids are home and I make a point of not drinking when they are at their dads because I dont want to get into the habit of sitting at home drinking alone. My dad went down that path and it didnt end well :rolleyes:
