View Full Version : A nice story...

One of my sisters was adopted by my parents when she was only 11 months old, she's 48 now. The first 11 months of her life involved a number of "aunts and uncles" and orphanages. Her brothers, none of which she knew about, were scattered amongst the various care homes/orphanages in the north east.

In the last 15 years she's made numerous efforts to find out about her biological parents and if she had any siblings. She'd managed to piece together a few things but no break throughs that gave her anything up to date.

Yesterday morning she received a phone call from her eldest brother who had also been trying to bring the family back together. My sister was the last piece of the jigsaw.. And yesterday afternoon she met 2 of her 4 brothers for the first time. And it was just fantastic!!:D:D:D

She is just ecstatic and finally at peace with herself.

Sadly her 'real' mum, who turned her life around in later years, died from the consequences of her misspent youth 18 years ago. But at least her sons had found her before she died and they were able to tell my sister what she was like, inc showing photo's.

Yesterday was a very special day, and I'm well chuffed for her.

Such a great bit of uplifting news, its such a lovely thing to hear that even after all those years of looking she finally found her other family.

Serves as a very inspirational story for all the others that are still looking for their families.

I hope that she finds the peace that she needed in her new found knowledge, and is able to build strong relationships with her other brothers.

Lovely news.
Something similar happened with my mother. Through a series of unfortunate circumstances (divorce, death, incompetance and WW2) she lost contact with her much younger half brother.

Well over 40 years after she had last seen him (at my Christening as it happens) the good old internet helped them find each other again. he was in New Zealand and he managed to come over here to visit, and she went over there, before he sadly died.

I'm so glad for your sister - a sense of belonging is food for the soul

They're both worm fodder and have been for awhile.
