View Full Version : Wanted - 2k ish sports bike
Got about 2 grand to spend on a bike. Looking for something in good mechanical condition, not to worried about age/mileage as long as it's been looked after.
Would prefer fuel injection as carbs scare me.
Will spend most of it's life on a track so not worried if it's a bit tatty looking as long as it's not going to break down. It does however need to be road legal with an MOT as I don't have a van or trailer.
Don't mind travelling for the right bike but preferably within 2 hours of Warwick.
I know this is an SV site but I don't want an SV650 may consider a 1000 but I have already had a 650 and didn't like it.
So sell me your bike!

Identical to the bike I bought at end of november last year.. managed to get mine for £1899 though :D

Thanks mate, the first one isn't road legal I don't think.
The second is exactly the sort of thing I am after but it's overpriced and too far away.

Would prefer a bike with lights as I will ride it on the road, just want something I can track without being to worried about trashing and crashing it.
Your bike looks nice. Wanna sell?

Err nop. :D I managed to get mine at a bargain price partly because of the time of year, but also because the dealer fluffed up with the mileage - it was listed as 47,000 miles but they hadn't realised the clocks were in kmh.. Reset to mph it shows 28,000 :D and then because I'd bought a bike from them before they said they would keep it at £1899 for me, but if I didn't buy then it would be around £2500 = OOOOOOOOOOOSSHHH..
so you're leaning towards a sportsbike? and ideally something more powerful than an sv650?
Good bargaining skills that man!
Yes I want a sports bike, not too fussed about power, more interested in handling.

I have this if you are interested. 2001, 37 odd thousand miles Looking for around £1900. Will have standard bars fitted back on. It's MOT'd till end of March, I've just ordered a K&N air filter for it & just fitted a scottoiler. I'm after a TDM900 to slow me down a bit.

I have sent a PM to Instigator as his bike would be perfect but he hasn't got back to me yet.
I haven't even considered the Triumph, don't know anything about them, how do they compare to a GSXR 600 in terms of weight and handling?

It's quick, sounds awesome & handles quite nicely. I've just found this article on MCN's website, probably sums it up quite nicely :)

I'll bear it in mind Mr C and if it was a road bike only I would be very interested but I think I am leaning more towards a SS 600 at the moment.
