how long is a piece of string :smt102

do you mean what is the manufacturers specification?, or perhaps what works on the SV, or what you like ?

Pirelli recomend 2.25 bar (32-33 psi)
the Dunlop could be any model so I can't help there

But tyres are a personal thing as much as anything else so only you know what "feels" right, 33/36 - 36/42 is a rough range depending on silica content, carcass design and tread pattern.

Cheers Mark.

Wasn't sure if there was a recommended exact pressure for them or not as they came with the bike, so was really after a ball park figure of what they should be

well a mis-matched set to start with, so you won't find a recomendation for the pair, I'd hope the front is at least a stickier one that the back, the diablo is a high silica content tyre (road sport) which I prefer slightly higher at 2.5 bar (36 psi), but then I like to ride the profile and have less sidewall deviation, I've no idea what you like.

the rear you only give the make, and as Dunlop make several models with different construction they would work in different ways at any given pressure.

I'd just stick them at 33/36 and play with them from there if you feel the need.

Just had another look and the Dunlop is a sportmax qualifier, this was put on when i purchased the bike

So the standard is 33 front 36 rear..?

I use Qualifiers (and again they do different compounds depending if it's the RR version) on my SV and run 32/34. You might want to run a couple of psi more in each if you're just running about on the road so much as YC and others have said.

Out of interest why didn't you get another diablo put on?

When i purchased the bike last summer the dealer put a new rear tyre on ( the dunlop ) and the diablo was fairly new as well so never bothered as both had similar tread depth, was going to wait til either worn and change both then..

33/36. Some people say 36/42 but they obviously ride in straight lines a lot and have a lot of potholes around

Glad i asked as when i checked the front was 29 and the rear was 26
