For wifey, most calls will be to my O2 mobile, would like some web browsing included, she sends some texts but not a lot.
Just looked at O2's tariff which includes 500MB web if you top up £10 every month, but the calls are 25p a minute for the first three minutes each day. She'd probably make one call to me per day of more than three minutes. That's 75p plus per day and her £10 top up would be gone after 13 or so calls. They have a tariff with unlimited calls, but it doesn't include the web.

Just seen this
http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/paymonthly/deals/1dacab2d-9b20-4117-baa5-5f6fea0dc6d6?CurrntPage=1&PageSize=9&RowCount=291&SortBy=-1&ManufacturerId=-1&ModelId=-1&PriceId=-1&ContractDurationId=-1&TypeId=1&TariffType=Tesco.Blue.Model.TariffUnCapped,Tesco.B lue.Core
and decided if monthly tariffs that do the job are that cheap, it doesn't necessarily need to be pay as you go

Col, imo get a cheap monthly contract, it'll offer more.
Clair kept her Iphone and didnt upgrade, she got a good deal with loads of texts and minutes for less than £20.
Tesco or GiffGaff
Keep in mind they both piggy back on O2 so will be the first to suffer if the network is busy.

Another big up for giffgaff. I use the £10 Goody bag option which gives me 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. If you want more minutes, there are bigger goody bags to choose from. Or you can just add credit in standard top-up style.
Also, giffgaff to giffgaff calls and texts are free.
Check out http://giffgaff.com/orders/affiliate/tgn
If you use this link you'll get £5 bonus credit when you first top-up and so will I.
hope that helps
