Just started riding the bike again after it sitting in the garage for the best part of a year.

Front brakes binding on the right hand side and fork seal blown. Grrr.

Cost of replacing all pistons and seals on the front brakes? Lots. Plus the pain of stripping the forks down and relacing those seals. I knew I should have replaced the seals when I changed the fork oil last year. That'll teach me. :(

Decided I am going to remove forks and let someone else do the replacing of the seals as I can't be bothered. As for the brakes. Yet another strip down and service to be done. Can't afford the cash it's going to cost to replace all the pistons and seals. Stupid six pot callipers.

Why do you need to replace it all? Surely a piston clean and re-assembly will suffice?

I have 6 pots on the ZX, and make sure I pump the pistons out a little, clean and re-grease every 6 months or so.

I know. I know. Forks are now in the workshop. Tomorrow is strip down of the callipers yet again. Ho hum...

I do the same but it seems I am doing it more often than should be necessary. I'm going to completely strip them down and have a good look at the pistons.

No comfort at all. I'm riding Lisa's Ninja to work at the moment. First time that's been out on the road for about a year too.

The Ninja keeps me at legal speeds. The YZF doesn't. Considering the amount of police that monitor the A303, the Ninja is probably the better bike to ride.

From 750cc inline 4 switching to a 250cc parallel twin. The two are not comparable.
