How many of you have downloaded Windows 8 already?
Microsoft officialy launched the consumer preview of windows 8 today and I'm going to be downloading that beast later tonight to confirm if i'm staying with XP/Windows7 or would consider an upgrade when it hits RTM.

Why would any "geek" be interested in Windows?

I'm gonna wait until its RTM as there is likely some issues. I have an MSDN licence so can grab it from there when the time comes.

No, I have a blissfully Windows-free existence, and would like to keep it that way.

Oh you people are not being fair. Windoze does have its place. I use it to run my alpha server emulation. Nice to know I no longer need a DEC box to run VMS.

I used to own an Alpha, chucked it cos the RTC was more a Random Number Generator (for values expressed as times/dates in the past :p)

Honda C50's are the most popular bikes on the planet. Therefore, by your logic, bikers should be interested in them.

Loaded it on a VM, what a bag of crap.

Sticking to my Windows 7 install, it does what I want very well.

Could use a Linux distro but it just wasn't for me. I was fed up with having to mess about with it every few days if I wanted to change something. Windows just leaves me to do it.

That, and I need Windows for my games and work programs. I get free access to Windows anyway so it doesn't bother me. I'll get Windows 8 and put it in the cupboard til later use.

Win 98 - Millenium
Win XP - Vista
Win 7 - Win 8

If you understand that then you'll understand what Win 8 really is
