My chain needs lubing every 50 or so miles, if I don't it doesn't feel smooth at all. I'm in the process of trying to find out what the problem is. So far I've cleaned the chain with parafin which I haven't done in a while. Not sure whether that's sorted it yet because I've not been on the bike for a while. Anyway my sprockets look warn, but HOW warn? How many miles do they have left in them? I don't want to buy a new sprocket and chain if the ones I have are still fine.

Also I bought some rear brake pads the other week from Hein Gericke that were on offer, however I THINK they have sent me pads for a different model bike. Can anyone confirm this? Ta.

IMO that front sprocket looks on it's last legs, but, if your chain feels rough because it isn't being lubed ever 50 miles then it is on it's way out too.

Cleaning with parafin would have damaged the rubber seals holding in the grease which lubricates the pins in the chain, therefore, knackered chain...

About the brake pads, they are not for an SV rear pad, curvey or pointy. SVs have the arm at one end et voila; link (http://www.gear4bikes.com/images/pads/FA174a.gif)

Isn't paraffin what suzuki recommend in the owner's handbook?

I don't know, but, if they do it needs re-writing.

I wouldn't use paraffin my on my chain, put it that way

I thought paraffin was recommended to clean chains because it specifically didn't affect the rubber seals?

That front sprocket is knackered and not doing your chain much good at all
