Rite, been looking over the route i posted recently for the brecon's and im thinking this... 113miles, 4hours (by googles reckoning)

-Start out at the Oasis Snack Bar in Abergavenny, meet at 10 for a brew and bacon butty to leave around half past.
-Lunch when we're coming up to / going round the top of Brecon, sure there'll be a burger van or the like for a brew and a snack
-Finish at the Skirrid Inn 5 miles north of abergavenny (maybe another cuppa tea) then head our own ways. With a lunch stop should get there about 3ish.

The tank will get brimmed at or near abergavenny so technically be able to do the route in one, but probably refill in brecon depending where lunch happens?

Map is below so take a peek...!

Sounds an alright plan in my mind but if there's a major flaw then do tell me, wont take offence ha.
Havent been on any .org rideouts or meets before let alone suggested one, so be nice and dont be shy! ;)

Looks good, not sure if I'd be able to tag along for the whole ride, but would be very keen to meet up along the way.
Plus would likely have a pillion, so wouldn't be going too fast :D

Will let the lot at uni know too, one of the lads is a member of the forum too.

Can't promise anything at the moment but might be along for this one. I presume the Oasis Snack Bar in Abergavenny is the Bus Station? If so having been there more than once, how will I know you're in the SV group, will you all be wearing red roses?

I tell ya what, i’ll pm the people that have shown an interest my mobileno. Drop us a txt sayin u can make it and we won’t leave without u! Hows aboutthat? J

The petrol strike needs seven days notice before it happensi believe so that shouldn’t be a problem, just a bit of extra time queuing ifpeople are still panicking!

Hope to see a few of u on sat, looking forward to it andkeeping my fingers crossed the weather holds up......

Hello all,

if the weather stays like this I would very much like to join you.

SVSimon said there is the possibility to meet in Monmouth and head to Abergavenny from there? Is there maybe even someone starting from Bristol? Don't really fancy riding till there by myself...

Nadine :)

I would be coming from Sunny Swindon so meet at Severn View is an idea. I'll be taking the back roads into Abba so should be fun but might take a little longer?

Just checked BBC forecast (not that that is of any help): no rain but max 12 degrees. Will be wearing 3 sets of thermal underwear, so should be able to cope.

Hhhhm, Cardiff??? I prefer going the Chepstow way? Meeting at Severn View sounds good, will send PM.

Should be on for this one. The plan is to be at Severn View at 9 to collect Nadine then get to Abba for around 10. I have some numbers so hopefully when I'm late people will be waiting...

Well there were 4 of us, SvSimon, NadineDieBiene, my friend (not currently of this parish) and me. After some sustenance SvSimon led us out and to the right into the wilderness, and to a short blast over 1000 Sheep. After the sheep the route got a little diluted and we found ourselves heading toward Swansea. So we turned round and aimed north for Llandovery. However due to magical changes in the tides and the alignment of the stars we somehow again started the approach to Swansea. But alas realizing this we recovered to the Brecons and the West End Café at Llandovery before setting sail back to Abergavenny and home.

A little chilly in places and a small patch of drizzle could not dampen the day. Some great roads were ridden. But every day has its events and this one was no exception. Shortly after leaving the bus station SvSimon recreated a scene from a cartoon as feathers were sent exploding into the air in a cloud as a Kamikaze Pheasant leaped from the bushes at him executing a textbook headshot.

Apparently stars were seen:

I hope you took it home and gave it a good seeing to. Can't be wasting good food in these times. My apologies for the no-show. Mate's leaving do last night meant I was in no fit shape to ride a barge let alone a bike. Glad it was fun and hopefully I'll join you all again sooner rather than later. Oh, and I know some great routes around those parts. There is loads more to get stuck into.

haha, really looked like in a cartoon! I was the third bike thinking: 'oh how lovely, we are riding through a cloud of feathers'... before I realised what had happened!
