Alryt guys just thought I'd get a couple of pictures up. Heres my curvy I bought it a couple of week's ago for the bargain price of £280!
Its a 2001 sv650s in black
The guy I got it off had a little off on it and stripped it back to street fighter it and then left it sat for 2 years in a heated garage.
The engine runs mint, starts first touch of the button hot or cold and is really quiet.
So far i've had to buy all the front fairings, clocks. forks. front brake master cylinder and lever, clutch lever, grips, bar ends, screen, radiator and a couple of other bits and bobs.

and a pic of the original damaged forks:

I still need 2 bolts for the front cylinder head engine mount, headlight and a battery then after I put it all together it should be ready to take for an mot.
The plan is to get it threw an mot asap then bring it home and strip it back. Get both the wheels powder coated (not picked a colour yet), give the fork bottoms and rear subframe a fresh coat of paint, give the engine a service, change the fork oil and spray the front fairings the original colour the bike should be.

Just a little update. I've now passed my das :) The bike is now mot'd and taxed. I've added a Remus innovation exhaust (one of the best sounding exhausts ive heard!) I've got the paint to do the wheels and fork bottoms, decided to spray the wheels myself to save money. Also got new fork oil to put in, i've given it a full service. Now i'm just waiting for the black front fairing i've won off ebay to be delivered.
Here's a couple of pics of it built up with the standard can and as it is now with the remus. I'll get more pictures up when the fairing arrives and i've painted a couple of bits.

Hi mate how have you got a pointy rear light to fit a curvy? Is there a how to anywhere? Cheers
Theres not much to it, but its not a straight swap.i still need to make some small infill panels for either side of the light. Will pm you info and links this eve as at work at the mo.

Yep looking good, wheels look nice, what colour & paint did you use?
Just a point, the brake lines look original, so would probably getting a bit tired & spongy, so by replacing them with braided lines would improve the braking, plus improve the looks still further.
Wish I'd bought this for £280! bargain
Looks good, makes me feel guilty about how bad my fork lowers look now though

I used halfords alloy wheel paint but the steel look colour not the silver one. I normally use coloutone for paint but since i've just got a halfords trade card I thought i would go there.
I was looking at brake lines yesterday and was thinking of getting a set of Hel lines in maybe red?? But not sure yet, wouldnt mind hearing some suggestions on brake lines

Hel are ok, although folk on here have had problems with being supplied the wrong length lines
I've got Goodridge, which have a carbon wrap which looks nice, not chavy carbon

Did you take the tyres off?
I've got to do a pair of mine, I've got another pair of wheels I can use whilst I'm painting them

Nope but it took a bit to mask them up properly, took me a full day from start to finish

Ah, I'll take the easy option and get the tyres taken off

If your going to get the tyres taken off then I suggest you definetly look at powdercoating there's a few places near me that all quoted around £15 a wheel. Worth seeing if there's anywhere in your area that does it as the quality would be loads better.

Oh, I know all about powder coating, have a look at my rear end ;)

Only trouble with powder coating, is if it chips, then it'll start to flake, and you can touch it up easily, especially if the guy fitting you tyres isn't careful.
It can still be soft underneath the surface. Plus then its really difficult to strip off.
With powdercoating, you need to remove the wheel bearings, you don't if you paint them. Just masking them off is fine
Paint is better in some respects. There's a guy who does my painting jobs, he knows someone who can spray them with some tough paint
