Hi everyone, yesterday i put down a deposit on a Red 2000 fully faired sv650. I got my full licence in 2008 but only just got round to buying a bike.
I CANT WAIT!!
I went for the sv650 because a mate had 1 and said it was perfect 1st bike to learn to ride on road (we both racers).
I pick the bike up next wednesday and already few cosmetic changes i want to make but strugerling with finding parts.
Basically i would like a Tail Tidy - I have done a lil bit research and it seems i need to purchase a undertray? Do i then need to make/buy a numberplate and indicator bracket and fit to that? Does anyone know where i can get this/these?
Also i want a Stubby exhaust - again i have done lil bit of research and i understand i need to cut original pipework? Is there any people know of that fit on without cutting pipes etc?
also i guess i would like a double bubble screen??
I am sorry if this has been covered but i did a search and searched but cant find definitive answers. please help.
Thanks alot!

The screens can be had on Ebay as well as shops, like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-SV650-1999-2002-DOUBLE-BUBBLE-SCREEN-ANY-COLOUR-NEW-/251002311153?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a70e751f1#ht_1249wt_932
No idea which ones best but sure a few people will give their views.

The MIVV GP exhaust is the only I can think of. Although it's easy to cut the pipe, you can buy clamps to fit the original can back on anyway.

My Curvy SV has a tail tidy but standard under-tray, not sure what brand it is could even be custom but it's good.

Could do, will have to be tomorrow now though. If you'd had a good look online then I'd assume it's a custom job (I've never had to look). Probably easy to do your self, I did my old Hyosung my self with a small bit of thin Ally and some bolts etc.

If you have a hunt around you may pick up a clear DB screen for not much money
Tail tidy there is a recent thread in Tuning and tweaking on the custom one a couple of orgers designed (it also some where in the sv650.org area)

Exhaust just cut the old end off and link off and get a new one.

What type of racing you doing?

don't try and ring its neck like a 600
Use the bottom end and shift at 9.5k

Or do the cam swap an then ring its neck. Anyway if you have raced you will probably want to improve the suspension. There's lots of scope to do it, search on here. They are brilliant bikes i have been thrashing my 2001 for a year now.

I made my own undertray, there is a how-to HERE (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/junej.hendry/scottishsv650site/rse_end.htm). Or you can buy an undertray.

Apparently you can ;)

I got what I think was this undertray (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HK04-UNDERTRAY-SUZUKI-SV-650-99-02-1999-2002-new-/310228227604?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item483b0b1614) but it appears to have been made by eye rather than measuring anything. It looks like it'll fit beautifully but doesn't line up nicely with anything. If you want to try it you're welcome to buy mine off me nice & cheaply but I wouldn't recommend them.

Pyramid Plastics (http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_95_736&osCsid=4053edc537ee69f04bd78fdf275ef89d) seem to be popular for this sort of malarky, I haven't got one myself. If you aren't keen on cutting original parts you should be able to buy an original undertray off ebay fairly cheap which you can chop up so you don't make a mess of the only one you've got.
