Hi All.

I have had a SK8 Bandit 1250 for a couple of years. I have not ridden it as much as usual over the winter. I last rode it about 3 weeks ago. Now I can't get the bike into neutral, only 1st or 2nd gear. Does anybody know if this is a common problem on the Bandit 1250 and what to do to fix it?

Thanks'
Tim

Dont know anything about the bandit, but on the SV this problem can be caused by the gear lever sticking on its spindle.Try lubing that and see if it improves.

How's the chain tension?

So I went out this afternoon to take off the sprocket cover to clean up behind there. Got 2 of the cover screws out but the 3rd rounded off. Bl**dy Suzuki cheese bolts! :smt072

Happens on the SV too, check your chain tension and your clutch adjustment.

Oil and level?

That too, but TBH if you don't already know that oil or chain adjustment is OK, sell your bike

does it struggle when the bike is running or when the engines off as well?

if it goes in neutral when the engines off, i would check the clutch adjustment in case its dragging slightly,

I find my Naked Curvy is a little difficult to get into neutral but applying slight upwards pressure and moving the bike very slightly forward works every time.

I imagine its just down to the size of the cogs and needs to move just a little to slip in? Or could I have a problem?

Try tightening the cable at the lever, mine was exactly the same at the weekend, works much better now.
