Advice on second hand bike please

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying the following bike:

It looks like a really good deal to me, and I'm going to try to get them down on price slightly. What do people think?

I've already looked at some general advice on these forums as to what to check for, but advice on the most important things to look at would be much appreciated.

It does sound and look good on the pictures, but until you have seen it in the flesh you wont know, Its in derbyshire where i am, and i can't say i've seen it about.

whilst it's possible to write a complete list of things to check when buying a bike and indeed how to check them (not always as straightforward as it seems), it could well be missleading as the inexperienced will probably miss something.

if you don't know bikes well, make sure you take someone who does with you, not only that but they also won't have the rose coloured perspective of a buyer either.

Thank you very much for the advice people, it's been taken on board. Unfortunately though, the bike was already sold when I contacted the seller. Time to keep on looking!
