Too hung-over to go for a ride so gave the bike a clean. Had it since September but too busy over the winter to get out much. She's done about 1300 miles now, loosening up nicely. A fantastic bike to ride and she puts a big grin on the face. Had to put the baffles back in the Termignoni's though, too loud for me, even after years of Harleys on drag-pipes or V&H.
I've decided she's definately a keeper, although :rolleyes:.................the 848evo Corsa SE looks rather lovely.

BTW, any other Defender drivers on here?

Had one of these on loan whilst my Ducati was being serviced. Very pretty and tiny bike to sit on! Found the bike vibrated so bad I couldnt see out of the mirrors! I mentioned this on a couple of forums and came to the conclusion some are vibey and some arent. Hows yours?

It is a bit vibey but you soon learn to pick the right moment to check the mirrors ;)

It's a small bike I agree, but it's exactly what I wanted after the Harleys and BMW's. In the two years before buying the Evo I'd had a couple of GS 12's and covered 24,000 miles on them.......but picking up a fully loaded GS after a fall on the gravel of Kielder convinced me that I needed a lighter bike!
I find the Evo comfortable though (I'm 6'5") and I've done an eight hour day up into the Borders and back with no problem.
The other bike on my shortlist at the time was a Daytona 675R. Now they ARE small, way too small for me anyway.

Having only sat on one, I could only just touch the floor and was unable to move the bike back or forth on tip toes.

I found it tiny! (I am 6ft so hardly lanky) However it wasnt uncomfortably small or cramped or low, just tiny! I also found the ride position was quite forward/sporty for a nekkid but that may just be that I am used to the bolt upright Hyper.

I was very naughty on it as I was trying to push the ABS brakes and traction control. This was the only reason I didnt buy one, I found the electronic aids 'dampened' the bike somewhat. Again that could be that I am used to the 'balls out' ride of the 'Tard. Can these electrical gubbins be turned off I wonder?

Yes the ABS and DTC can be switched off. The DTC also has 4 settings for level of sensitivity.
This bike is smarter than me, and if it could speak it'd probably say "get a move on, d###head"

With me it wasn't that the bike was big, just that the bars were too low and the seat too high. The salesman offered me a ride but I had to decline as I had no control when stopped and had no intention of buying a bike I was bound to drop.
