Ive just replaced my can with a lovely oval carbon stubby and it attaches with 3 bolts. Theyre as tight as I can get them but there is a tiny leak just in one spot. I assume its ok to seal with silicon, question is which one, do i need heat resistant stuff or will plain old kitchen sealant suffice?
Thanks, KJ xx

plain old bathroom does it. But use clear.
Quite conflicting advice there.

I was surprised when Carbon Can told me to use plain bathroom silicon. But it works.
From my own experience it doesn't always work. If you have to buy some I'd get stuff that should work from the off.
Oven silicone sealant will also work.
I used clear bathroom silicon on mine with now bother at all.
You pays your money and you takes your chance.

I'm sure that stuff owenski linked is cheaper than decent bathroom sealant! (frustratingly expensive stuff)
But the above sounds like a good option providing you've got a bit lying around and aren't going to go give B&Q £8-£12

I have a small tube of this stuff you can have, it comes with fans for domestic boilers for sealing around the flue and fan, http://www.acc-silicones.com/content/products/as5550.ashx says 180 deg c max
