In light of reeder it probably dosn't make logical sense to some as to why i still wanting to get a bike again, but i have made the decision, base'd upon money and escalating fuel prices and insurance on the cage the Abarth grande punto is going.

and as i still have the Citroen saxo it will be my winter ride, and knowing the tradition of the org i have decided to get a triumph :) and 1050 speedtriple to be precise

roll on the 13th of aprill to start bike shopping

:D

Have a try on its baby brother too. You may be pleasantly surprised, and they might be more willing to let you out on it...

Nice one Barwell. Fully understand why you'd want to get a bike again. I couldn't give up, and if it's somebody's passion then they shouldn't.

I pressed 'num lock' dammit.

I wondered why you wanted him to go on a diet, and if Barwell is the same weight as he used to be (i.e. same as me), getting down to 14 stone before summer was pretty ambitious!

I had a 1050 Speed Triple for 5 years and it was probably the best bike I've ever owned. And also the only bike that I never dropped. I did have several close shaves on it where a lesser bike might have gone tarmac surfing.

is the punto that much worse than the saxo to run though, or you selling to raise funds for the bike?

its the abarth so 1.4 turbo, and as below mine was tuned from 155bhp to 185bhp although i have seen no real change in fuel usage, gets about 32mpg the saxo gets 40+ might have to spend a bit of cash on the saxo but not a lot to get it back on the road

Welcome back Dan!

naa it was slow as standard lol
