Looking for £2850 ONO, from an Orger, on the assumption I've managed to source and fit an alternator in time, which is currently faulty.

However, there's room for negotiation if I've not found one in time.

Couple of other bits n bobs I forgot to mention:

Brakes were all scrubbed up, new fluid and pads about 1000 miles ago. New chain, sprockets and rear tyre all fitted at the same time.

It's got a lowered back end (30mm) as I'm a short ass, but I have the original plates and it's a 30minutr job to swap them back. Everything will be included in the sale.

Any Q's, or photos etc just fire away and I'll do my best to help.

Cheers

JM

Any Q's

What you got your eye on?

What you got your eye on?

A damn good question!

I've somehow (and I genuinely don't know how) managed to ride for nearly 3 years on this beast without accruing a single penalty point, something which can only be a matter of time before that changes.

It (at times) brings out the very worst in me, the power is just so damn intoxicating and it's only a matter of time before I either get pulled or scooped up.

Possibly something that rhymes with 'ripple' although I'm not sure in what guise yet (Street/Tiger etc).

Pic removed, too raunchy for the orgs sensitive eyes.

JMalternator windings seem a common fault on the 954 and nodoudt the 929,so finding a good second hand one may not be that easy.and new ones are £330,hope my blade doesnt suffer with this any time soon, good luck with your search

All electrics fully fixed and good to go.

New generator was fitted by the local garage yesterday and everything's hunky dory again.

So - who wants it then?

Probably struggling to sell due to mileage.....My R1 i got rid of before xmas had 54000 miles on it but like yours had been regularly serviced and it ran beautiful and pulled like a train plus the condition was almost showroom. In the end i let it go for £1500 but would not hesitate buying another with similiar mileage. The thing is most people don't ride there bikes as you have put in youre ad so as a consequence anything over 15000 is considered high mileage....weird or what!

Aye, mebbes - there's been a decent amount of interest, just no biters yet (our own Mr 6th aside)

Unearthing this from the grave once again - if anyone's interested in a bit of a deal around the £2,250 mark - let's talk.

Willing to drop a bit for a quick sale (self-employed / tax bill time, say no more!).

I feel for you. Paid mine today. Not a happy chappy. Every year I mean to hold some back to pay up. Had to sell laptop to make up the shortfall this year.

I'd have to be pretty desperate to sell my bike. Free bump and GLWS.

Hi mate, not been on for a while tried to look at the e-bay listing, doesn't exist anymore, what mileage is on it??

JamesMio

Good point - thanks for the heads-up.

Here's the guts of a PM I sent to someone else looking at this:

I've been mainly running around on the SV since May, so mileage / condition is all pretty much as was in the last listing.

Mileage - I'll double check, but it's in the 47,000 - 48,000 region.

Service-wise, it hasn't been done recently, purely due to lack of use but I'd happily treat it to an oil change before it leaves the garage. Being honest it would certainly benefit from a service, but up till now everything has been done as required, and there's nothing actually in need of attention.

Tyres - rear is fine, less than 1,000 miles on it, but it needs a new front. If you were hoping to ride it away I could help arrange something with the wee local garage down the road to fit a new one for you in advance.

You're fellow Orgers, and I'll give you the full warts n all details.

It's 10/11 years old and has done around 4,000 miles a year since new. There's a few wee marks here and there, but on the whole it's in great nick.

Things I'd be doing if I was keeping it would be to bung it through a good service, replace the front tyre and look into the front brake which is uber powerful but has a slight shudder.

I had toyed with getting all this stuff done and slapping a price tag of £2,700+ ish on it but in the end I don't have the time nor luxury of spare cash lying around to do it right now.

Long story short, I'm needing a) a bit of spare cash to sort out the tax bill and b) longer term a more bigger mileage type bike for a new job I'm doing.

If I've missed anything, or you wanna ask anything else - fire away. Ill be (as I'm sure you'll already have noticed) gutted to see this go but needs must,

Cheers
JM

Bump - couple of interested parties have cooled a little. Any takers before I trot off towards evilBay?

Going to have to withdraw my interest from this. I'd really like it but I've just spent money on my gsxr putting the same things right that need doing on the blade so I'll end up out of pocket a bit too much to make it worthwhile. I know you don't want to sell it really anyway so actually I'm doing you a favour :D
