need to so some work on my beemer, to gain better access i need to remove the brake fluid bottle and lines ect which will result in losing some if not all brake fluid. I've not done an ABS system before and was wondering upon topping the system back up or refilling it completely, do i have to put pressure into the system through the fluid bottle whilst I bleed the brakes?

I have been told you have to do this with ABS systems, if not on all makes just on beemers. you screw something onto top of the filler bottle a pump pressure into it?

Ask YC, he did the ZZR14 a few weeks back.

You can do it as normal.
Some odd mounted units have bleed nipples on them .
But your you can spot that.
Pressure bleeders are faster.and can force stubborn air pockets out.
They also give the master cylinder less stress,as you don't push the seals beyond there normal operating stroke.

I used to use one which attached to the spare wheel, it was very efficient i must say.
I dont know what happened to it tbh, think i lost the caps it came with.
