Anyone have any thoughts on these?
I have leathers which I use for almost everything, but thinking of a pair of these for chucking on for the occasional summer morning trip to work and back.

I have some RST kevlar jeans (not wax ones). Jeans a well made with lots of kevlar patches on the inside. Armour is OK but not great and the netting pouch it sits in is a bit poor. I upgraded the knee armour to forcefield. Since I bought my leathers have not worn jeans.

I've just ordered a pair, so will see what they are like when they arrive (can always send them back).
Problem I've been having is finding a pair that don't make me look like MC Hammer...
If the RST's are not much cop, I might try a pair of Hood's.

Not too worried about the armour as I plan to get some of the ones that strap to your leg.

Have a look at sartso kevlar jeans, have a pair of illusions and they are a quality pair of jeans. Get better reviews than rst and hood too!

Got some Hood ones a couple of weeks back. Must admit they're pretty decent. The lining isn't Kevlar, it's paramid, which isn't quite so comfortable.

I've got some Kevlar jeans and have only worn them twice.
They don't offer the same level of protection and just don't "feel" safe.

Can you tell me more about this? I've never seen any available but am interested.

Check out the motocross and enduro stuff.
It's designed to go under clothes so straps to the body rather than to the clothes.

Well Knox me down with a feather. I'll have to look at those. The floppy armour in my textiles isn't too clever ad I don't trust it'd be where it's needed if the stuff hit the fan. Thanks.

I'd say Draggin' Jeans do some great moto jeans : http://www.dragginjeans.net/
Not as cheap as others but they have good protection at knees AND hips. I've been eyeing the evo model, which looks to be quite decent protection-wise (as long as you tuck them in your boot when you ride so that they don't ride up when scraping against the asphalt).

i've had rst ones, Draggin jeans and currently on Sartso ones.
The rst ones seem to just wear away at seams and other parts. bit worrying!
the Draggin Jeans were brilliant. lasted a long time but again the material gradually just wore down around the seams of the kevlar.
Sartsos are my current ones for small trips (sub 50mph trips close by) and they are doing well, only thing is slightly bigger than i needed, so bottom of them has worn down at the back of my shoe, but this does no harm to me. also just need to tighten my belt.

the ones i am interested in is Draggin K-legs. Full leg Kevlar longjons. So you can wear any trousers you want ontop and you get more road rash resistance than the normal ones!

I ordered some of the RST ones, which should be here tomorrow, just to see what they are like.
If they look a bit flimsy I'll probably send them back and look at either some Sartso Biker Black or Hood K7 Black.

Hiya I have two pairs of the RST kevalar jeans they are brilliant and still pretty warm on cold days even on hot days there fine and refreshing to wear, they have knee pads that can be taken out in seconds and just wear the jeans as normal. i would highly recomend these jeans to anyone who is lookin to stay cool in the summer and look casual.

How long are the legs? I need a ladies size 12, but I wear a 35" inside leg, I find it very difficult to find ordinary jeans let alone kevlar ones.

Kevlar is a para-aramid. Twaron is the other in common use for jeans.

I have Hornee Jeans which I wear whenever I intend to be walking about at my destination. The look really good and have a lot of kevlar inside, but zero impact protection. So there's increased risk of shattered knee caps and cracked hips, although I would be road rash free. It's a compromise on safety. Would recommend them though.
