Of course he's entitled to say it. He's not actually breaking any laws, therefore he could say the same about anyone of any colour or background (subject to a civil suit for defamation - does he have proof of DC's engagement in this sort of activity? ;)).

Is it deserved? I didn't vote conservative but I'm all for someone else having a shot at improving things, even if tough decisions need to be made. However, I don't think what's happening is "cleaning up the mess". Things seem to be going too far the other way in what feels like changes for the worse that, once done, will be very difficult to undo.

A 1st class stamp for £1 (Royal Mail will not rule it out)? Petrol £1.40+? Seems crazy to me.

I'm tempted to say it's a fake. Without wishing to pass judgement on the subject matter it is factually correct that Paul Rickett is the Borough Commander for Tower Hamlets, however there is a specific offence of displaying material likely to cause offence, alarm, harrassment or distress (even in private if it can be viewed from a public place) and it would be extremely unlikely for a senior officer (even a Met one) to make such admission of unlawful activity by his officers without making some kind of reference to the actual offences committed.

Great spoof though, and I think the real irony is that the alleged author of the letter is likely to agree with the views of the recipient given recent government proposals....
