What's going on in Somerset today? (15.04.12)

Excuse my ignorance, but is there some sort of bike event going on in Somerset today?

Nipped down the A38 to a Somerset pub for lunch, and while we sat out front (12:30pm) literally hundreds of bikes, all sorts, came past, all with yellow ribbons attached. Some riders/pillions wearing yellow t-shirts etc over leathers too.

Never seen so many bikes in my entire life, it was like Fowler'ss entire stocklist x5!

All heading in the direction of Blagdon on the A368, so maybe coming from Weston?

Saw some bikes meeting in city centre for a charity ride. All in high viz vests with big red lettering on the back saying charity run.
Could have been looking to join up with the main group??
One guy dropped his gixxer right outside the BRI in middle of the road and needed some help to pick it up. V embarrassing for the poor bloke.

At £10 per bike, there's some good cash heading for a worthy charity.:smt041

Yesturday i was on a ride called "The Toy Run" Everyone brings toys and meet in a pub car park in trowbridge, then they all get loaded into a van and then everyone convoys to Bristol children's hospital and donates them! This year there was a van, a pick up and a car full of toys! Was a really good run for a really good cause!!
