Got this arriving at the weekend. Haven't seen it up close and personal yet, just know it needs some TLC. Some? Who am I kidding? It's not moved in 18 months!

Anyway, good luck and a following wind and it'll be on the road and subject to a rolling resto. That's the plan now anyway. Chances are I'll just fix n frash.

Well I'm in possession *grins*
As well as a scuffed can, damage from the slow stack extends to cracks around the OSF indicator stalk, bit of crazing on the rear cowl and a busted brake lever. All cosmetic so no biggie for now. All in all that £500 well spent methinks *grins more*

It's all go. Was worried I had alarm trauma but the last owner forget to mention he'd put the batteries in the fob +ve to +ve, to prevent drain I guess. Anyway, sorted that and hooked up a boost charger and it's all good. Battery is there but dead so as soon as I've confirmed it runs that's being sorted. Callipers are coming off and for strip and clean ahead if new pads and seals. Next weekend it's strip and lube for all that moves. Or maybe that should be all that should move. Rebuild the callipers and refresh all the fluids next weekend and I hope to get it in for an MOT the following week.

Looking forward to that Guildford Massive action :)

It's alive!!!

Finally tracked down the front carb drain and won the battle to change the front plug, slapped some fresh in the tank and it's all good.

Great news, looks like you got a good bike there. How much was it?

StewartR
17-05-12, 05:47 PM
Bought it for £500 then a bit under £400 for bits, tax, mot and insurance. Think I can sneak a Fuel can in without topping the grand :)
