Ironically I couldn't be bothered to remove the shock, it is really annoying me now as it stands out too much, didn't think the yellow would show as much.

Kinda ruins the bikes look now

Looks cool enough for a ladies bike.
Wouldn't fuss with the shock (spring actually) as they all came in yellow.

That looks pretty damn good, not my colour but if you really like a colour then get it done like that rather than settling for another "off the peg" colour. Hope she likes it!

I've often thought of doing something similar, now my bike is showing its age and scratches maybe I should consider it more. I didn't think £1200 was a bad price from my guestimation of what I'd be comfortable paying. (Sorry for the slight derail OP)

Let us know the outcome! And I really didn't notice the shock, the rest of the bike completely detracts away from it so I wouldn't worry ;)
