View Full Version : FireBlade 954 - anyone had one?

After the abject disappointment of the k1 gsxr 750's engine seizing on its maiden voyage at the start of march, and then York Suzuki making the situation a lot worse by dismantling it & announcing it was too big a job for them before simply handing it back; I've taken the whole thing as a sign it's time to try something new.
The brief: must match or be better than the 750 in terms of power & handling. Looking around it seemed the only way is up so without gettin onto 'propper 1000s' the 954 blade seems to have rave reviews about handling, power, finish & reliability.
Anyone owned one? Ridden one? Know someone who has? What they like? The older r1's don't seem to be doing it for me, ninja's seem to ridden by nutters & Suzuki can phuck off.
Thanks in advance as always :) xxx
Does that mean the gixxer is for sale? :p

It could well be very soon (when it's fixed basically) complete engine swap :( you selling the tiger or just missing Sportsbikes enough to want a 2nd bike? When are we having a G&T man?
I got a second bike! Got a DRZ but still would love a third bike, keep looking at all the sport bikes that come in at our place :c

I have one, picked it up after my CBR600F was written off. I thought the 6 was a good bike but the 954 leaves it for dead.
Handles like a dream, 130bhp at the rear wheel when I bought it, 145 now with a full Akra system, comfortable, chuckable and very well built.
One of the best bikes I have ever ridden and certainly lives up its reputation. Needs a steering damper as the front gets light when on full reheat.

Top of the morning chaps, thanks for the nudge Mav, I owe you a Mars Bar!
Nice to speak to you Paul, I've just nipped out and chucked a bucket of soapy water over it, so as soon as it's dried off I'll take a wander round it with the iPad and send you a load of pics & vids of it.

No problem, are Scottish Mars bars smaller than English ones, or do they have tartan wrappers :D
