Evening Org,

I'm very close to buying one of these. I know they are a little different to the normal sprint but I like the look of them. Is there anyone normal sized (i.e over 6ft) on here riding one and do you find it big enough for big miles?

I keep coming back to the sprint as it looks like a bigger more modern SV and I loved my SV!

How do I mark this thread so, in a year when I'm considering the same thing, I can find it again and see what everyone had to say. Looking at the ST personally and I'm properly normal size (5'8") but otherwise, the same plan.

I'm fighting between

the new v strom, had the old one and loved it but it handled like a tractor, new one is meant to be a lot better but I had the litre one with GSXR brakes on it so will probably be disappointed 2 up touring

Triumph tiger 800 I like this and its big

Triumph Explorer 1200 She likes this and its even bigger

Sprint GT we both like this and its the cheapest (2nd Hand)

and the curve ball GS 1200 BMW is in there. I like them but I dont like the dealers.

Either post in the thread to subscribe to it, like you just did, or click on "thread tools" on the upper right side and select "subscribe".

Different forum, I know, but the GT is not liked there for some reason:

Glad I read that, it sounds a little excessively old man in GT guise, shame.

Could also just stretch to this, if anyone has any opinions.

Bit of a fickle move there, JB
That bike is immense!

I made the mistake of sitting on it. She says it'll hurt my knees but it felt like my old 528 when I sat on it and had to escape the shop before i dropped a deposit on it. I can have it if it'll take a top box for touring (read flying from one hotel to another). I hate buying new bikes, there's too many.

I test rode the sprint GT i'm 5'9 and it was a lovelly bike, fast and still agile for such a large bike, but most of all it was comfy.

Maybe a Sprint ST would suit you better.. You can get them used for much less than a GT and invest the difference in a custom saddle, maybe a LSL raiser kit , HID lights and have yourself a much better bike than the GT, with money to spare (maybe on suspension bits).

Or you could go with the other 1050, the Tiger, which is just like an overgrown SV, with a bit more suspension travel... Of course, I'm saying this because I've recently bought one & think it's brilliant :D:D

Well the SPrint GT is just too small, the tiger 1050 feels nice and the tiger 800 XC felt the best overall, but that big wheel probably ***** the handling up a bit. The prices are insane though, bikes are silly money now.

No, we're just paid less and less ;)

My 58 plate ninja 600 was 5k new now they are about 8k, thats a fairly chunky increase. My pay hasn't gone up enough! At this rate I'll be making a honda hornet tourer.
