Oh Mighty Org
I have been rewarded from work for going above an beyond my duties with a nice little suprise
My boss has said that the company will pay for me and my missus to go away to a "nice hotel" for a long weekend
Now i don't normally go to these sorts of places and i keep looking at prices and thinking thats far too expensive (compared to a travelodge)
Needs to be dog friendly aswell as i will be taking my pet
My question being where would you recommend
I have thought about here http://www.headlandhotel.co.uk/ but i always go to Cornwall so maybe something different would be good (also not sure on how much is taking the p*ss)
Thanking you all in advanced

St Tropez :) ..... well he didn`t say what country you were limited to
I would pick somewhere ultra-scenic that you had always wanted to go to , go for it ........ and I wouldn`t be shy , they can always say "No"
Depends what you like doing. I'm sad and like walking up hills, cycling up and down hills, looking at pretty hills, drinking good ale by the lake and taking pictures of hills. If you like some good scenery (involving hills) i would recomend the lake district. There a lot of dog friendly B&B's there but since it's on the boss i would rent a cottage for the weekend! None of that big hotel rubbish.

Needs to be this country because of the dog
I don't mind what we do
Usually we go walking all day with the dog

It's about having options, who cares about age? I'm fairly certain you can go there if you are below the age of...say...72?
Avoid Cambridge... I work there.

How's about somewhere's REALLY nice?
Pale' Hall in North Wales.
http://www.palehall.co.uk/
Leave the dog at home and pay more attention to the Mrs.
From my own personal experiance, somewhere nice and somewhere pet friendly are very seldom at the same location.

A friend used to own that place in the late70- mid 80s and made it a hotel Bill. It was such a financial drain they had to get rid. I hope it has been done up since. Bonus for me is I must have stayed there about 100 times for free during that period.

Wow, that's interesting!
Has been done up quite nicely by current owner. Apparently still a financial drain however as it's presently up for sale. (£2,950,000)
Not a bad price really, all I need is to win the lottery.

New Forest is dog heaven with forest, moorland and beaches. Lots of hotels, sure some must be dog friendly.

Haven't read the rest of the thread, but Headland Hotel was a great hotel when I stayed there back in..... 1988! Still think it gets good reviews on Trip Advisor. And an added bonus - 'The Witchhes' film (Roald Dahl) was filmed there :-)
