Just joined, so saying a big hello to all. Soon to purchase my first SV650 and very much looking forward to it. Had a break from bikes for quite some time now, so looking forward to getting back to 2 wheels again.

Brief history of bikes I've owned.

RD 50M
NSR 125R
RD 35OLC (Gutted that I got rid of that)
FZ 600
GPX 750R
Firestorm

what was the firestorm like and how long ago was it?

If you got really comfortable with it I kinda get the feeling the sv might come across as a bit sedate for you? Still fun bikes all the same :)

welcome along & watch out for badger

Wow,, thanks for the warm welcome. Feels like the Mx5nutz site,, very friendly, unlike another owners site that I won't mention ;-p

Ref the Firestorm,, it was on a 2000 plate, so an early model. It was a lovely bike, tank was a tad small though. Sounded lovely with a set of race pipes on her. I sold her 10 years ago now, so I don't think I'll notice much difference compared to the SV now as too much time as passed.

I wondered when the first "hairdresser" comment would be posted,,,didn't expect it to be that quick lol.

For the record,,Autoexpress did a survey years ago to see what the official hairdresser car was.

VW Golf ;p

They shy away from soft tops,,,don't want to mess up their hair :D

Oh,,and I've just put a deposit down on a 2002 plate K2.

Only 5200 on the clock, excellent condition,,think it might have seen one wet day during its life so far.

We're just down the road - west edge of Bognor. Are you getting the bike private or from a local dealer?

Just a stones throw away then,,well a big throw :)

Getting the bike from a small private dealer up in High Wycombe. Deposit was paid yesterday, so hope to pick it up next week.

Picked her up at last. Not rode for 10 years so would have preferred a softer break back on 2 wheels. Had to pick the bike up from High Wycombe,,, 2 hour bike ride,,, now shattered.

Enjoyed every second of it though.

Still, a ride like that means you know if you've done the right thing!
