Meeting some guys from work tomorrow, and staying over. I've decided to do the trip up from sunny Redcar on the thunder machine via jedburgh, i.e. a straight run.

Saturday's run back south will be more of a bimble. Any suggestions for the trip back down?

how interesting do you want it?

what time you thinking of leaving from dumfemaleline?

After a few sherbets tomorrow night it won't be an early start back. Looking to be back in Redcar for when the boss finishes work, 6pm. If the weather's ok it may well take me 5-6 hours to get home.

Route; decent places to stop off for snacks/large brews.

how far apart in miles do you want the brews?

Straight run is 171 miles, and 3 1/4hrs. Expecting to do upwards of 250 miles and maybe 3 brew stops and one fuel stop + photo opportunities.

ok i think you'll only need 2 brew stops and i would recommend both on the map.

the first part to get out and onto the Carnwath road is a bit confusing but if you have a spaznav you should be fine.

the first one is in Peebles (The Tatler Cafe http://g.co/maps/nxqw9 (C) and the second is in Kielder Visitor Centre (E).

Fuel stop in Hawick Morrisons (D) as there are none till you get to around Corbridge.

if you have more time you could always go via Alston and drop into the Hartside for a brew.

I'm only 40 mins from dunfermline but you're welcome (as always) to pop in here for a brew, might even manage a bowl of soup if you're lucky mate.

Cheers Bib. I've not been to Hawick for donkey's. If the weather holds I might run onto Hartside then down through Weardale.

Hey Marc, you back from the Apple...

If I'm in one piece on Saturday morning I'll have a run up to yours.
