I used to have one like that IIRC on my old mid 70s T140v Bonnie. I shouldn't think it's going to be any more effective at stopping someone lifting it into a van than the normal headstock steering lock.

Would stop someone lifting it into a van if they added a chain round a lamp post to it;)

Not if it's a metal lamp post - pikey scum will have that away too!

+1 if the tabs have a bit of meat to em
