I'd like to get a bike transported from Swindon (Wiltshire) to Egham (Surrey).

Does anybody know any reputable couriers to do so? Roughly how much should I be looking to spend?

Have you got access to a car with a towbar, then you could hire a bike trailer for a day or so.

There's companies on Ebay that advertise this service

I have a friend with van who could possibly do it for a fee, I can ask him if you are serious about it.

It has a dead battery, no tax and no MOT. What is T&T?

Yeah I would love that! He'd really do it for just petrol money? It's such a big task!

Taxed & tested. Plenty of van places around to rent from and you'll get it pretty cheap. Egham to Swindon return is probably about 150 miles, so won't cost much on fuel either.

What about tying it down inside the van?

a couple of ratchet straps is all thats needed. usually there are lugs inside the van to attach them to. Don;t forget to take a ramp too

Where can I get either of those? I guess I'd have to borrow some?

I rented a short wheel base transit van from Kendal today. £38 per day 0800 - 0800. Borrowed a ramp and two rachet straps from a mate, bike was very secure with only the two straps.

I'm afraid it's a pointy, no curves on my new girl. MOT booked for Thursday so hopefully get out on a bike for the first time in a year next weekend. Pooping my pants really, my accident shook me up a bit. But, I'll take it easy for a few hours then hopefully I'll get my mojo back.
Allen I PM'd you with a possible solution if Jayneflakes friend can't help.

If you do choose to hire a van I've got a proper ramp and a few ratchet straps you can borrow. I'm only in Aldershot so a short hop up the m3 from you
