636 b1h shock fit Curvy?

Long story but a friend of a friend mentioned he had a kwak in bits, and was selling off the parts separately.

2003 636 b1h apparently. No idea on mileage, and all the bolts and stuff are in in a box.

First things first:

1. Am I right in saying this will drop in with no mods except battery box and needing another fit-for-purpose bolt? (before everyone starts screaming use search, I did, but anytime I search I get "page cannot be displayed"...)

2. If so, any tips on where to get the bolt from if he cant find it. Dont want to pick up a random one and have it shear on me :D

3. Any idea on how much (if any) height this will add to the rear. Remember I am on tippy toes already. I'm thinking a little raise wont be an issue if I can get sag etc set right, as on the current stock shock it doesnt squat at all when I sit on it even on least preload.

4. I think my rear linkage may be facked, contributing to #3. Never been touched as far as I know. As I absolutely cannot have the bike in pieces for longer than a day (no garage etc) I want to overhaul the linkage and have all the necessary parts to replace. Do I need any special tools for removing bushes/bearings/etc. Easy job?

Check the year but ZX6r needs an M10 bottom bolt between 52-55mm, quarter threaded (some say this is important), flanged with, most importantly, a lock nut. Make sure that bolt doesn't foul dogbones. Use spacers if necessary. You can re-use the SV top bolt.

Here's the ZX6r bolt part number: 92153-1615. Here's a useful fiche - http://www.cmsnl.com/products/92153-1615-bolt-flanged_921530663. I had to squash standard battery after cutting. This will be replaced with a thinner battery (70mm thin) to slot back on to remaining portion of battery tray.

Oh, this is for a pointy (K9) & based on the standard bottom bolt being about 50mm and a ZX6r 07 shock. I know nothing else.

It fits, modify battery box and remove a small piece of metal from the tank hinge.

I used the zx6 bottom bolt - with a little trimming of the head for clearance.

So I guess I need to get another dremel-type thing to cut the hinge, as mine is knackered after about a decade.

What did you trim the head with/how?

I'm guessing the stock torque settings are fine with the ZX6 nut and bolt?

tank hinge can also be cut with a hacksaw, and you can simply use a hand held file to remove a bit of the bolt head, if doing that way, lay the file flat and move the bolt along the file, instead of filing the bolt head (with bolt in hand) if you dont have a vice.

Angle grinder for both jobs. It like a hacksaw, but much more fun and less effort.
