Need help understanding....

I've headed back to St Neots to visit my family for the week and yesterday I decided to go out with my mum and get a coffee in the town centre. We were walking on the pavement minding our own business when some dimwits in an old green golf throw eggs at us. Luckily their aim is about as sharp as their IQ so they miss but my question is... Why do they do it, whats the point?

I mean I can understand them mugging someone, they gain something out it, be it a watch or a phone. But eggs from a car window? They are not even around long enough to see the effect of what they have done so how so they know that they hit their targets or not? I cannot apply logic to this kind of behavior so I guess I simply will never be able to understand it.
