I do believe that if headlights are on sidelights/position lights also have to be on.
Someone I'm sure will be along to confirm

Of course you can fit a switch by breaking the feed to them and putting it inline, I don't know the legality of it (I think sidelights are required to be on with any lighting, but you'd have to check, although having blue ones makes them illegal anyway).

The lights are powered by the brown wire from the ignition switch, this also powers the indicators and the rear light/number plate light, so the switch needs to be after the junctions that go to the relay and rear lighting which is inside the loom. Probably easiest to take the wire that goes into the fairing to the lights themselves and switch that.
Or... don't fit chavvy blue lights to your bike.

Why not do this in the first place rather than taking about a switch?

Because the blue sidelights are the same colour as my bike i though it looked quite good
muuuuust resist as i'm a reformed man nowadays :smt040
I have blue tint LEDs on mine and think they look miles better than the standard bulb. Each to their own. ;)

So because you thought they looked good you decided to wire in a switch to turn them off..
Winner.
If they are only a tint of blue your probably be ticked of rather than fined for impersonating an emergency vechle.
That's a big fine...

No, i wanted a switch to turn them off because they are illegal and i wanted to stick to the rules when required. I was just asking a question, wow?

So you want to spend time, money and effort wiring in a switch rather than just buy white bulbs and change them...
