Has anyone had any experiance with the Frank Thomas helmets? noticed them in a lot of stores recently at the £40 mark.

Can't find any reviews online about them apart from the fact they used to be called Novak so i'll stay away from them.

I wouldn't trust my hands/backside to Frankly Rubbish kit, never mind my head.

Its a myth that you can see the Great Wall of China from space, you CAN however see the Frank Thomas returns pile.

I have quite a bit of FT gear,

Leather trousers - nae problems, low speed off - no damage! A*'s boots scuffed and jacket scuffed but FT's unmarked! Bougtht 2nd pair for use after the first pair die, but 2 years on and no problems. £30 a pair!

Textile Jacket - only time wet got thru' was on the way back from GMIV and it was torrential for 3-4 hours riding, otherwise i have been well pleased. 3 years of abuse and no failed seams or zips or anything! Would say best value bit of kit i have. Paid £60 for it 3 years ago.

1 piece leather - £80 from BMF show, not used much as a bit tight (must have shrunk over winter! LOL), fit on legs and chest is good but lower arms are HUGE! and the liner has split from the leg cuff bit at the bottom. Only complaint i have with my FT gear.


Gloves -didn't like fit or feel - sold after 1 use! Compared to A*'s poor fitting and not very comfy.

got some ft gear.

black knight trousers are great. as is the ace jacket. both have been used consistanly for years! the gloves on the other hand are gash! went through 4 pairs and then just binned the last 60 quid pair i bought as i didnt trust them. Lower end stuff if poor (read cheep leathers) top stuff is actually pretty good kit and cheaper than other stuff. buy with your eyes not with a name.

I bought a set of their leathers - second hand which had been used maybe a dozen or so times, and I've worn them several times, never had an issue with them at all.

Zips and stitching are all great on mine.

As others have said, buy with your eyes and how they feel.
