Your not the only one!
If they can get them up and out of Burma, it'll be some sight

I read this a while back, but the report I read said the were buried to hide them from the advancing Japanese forces not because they were surplus.

The Griffin engines were fantastic, can you imagine them all flying together!

I've had one Lancaster located next to my earhole, which was undescribably loud, and it wasn't even on full chat.......20 of these would be absolutely deafening!!

That is cooler than a dancing puppy. Shame there were no pictures of said planes. Who needs terracotta warriors?!

Would look like this, this is a pic of a Spitfire Mark XIV taken in Burma during WWII.

Just had our weekly flyover from our local Spitfire, as the lady (yes lady!) pilot performs acrobatic over the sea here.

Lovely growl from the engine as she did a barrel roll whilst climbing

Is she the lady from the telly with the only 2 seater spitfire still flying?

No, this is another one, its a single seater. But she might be the pilot, because she flies the balls off this Spitfire, its absolutely magnificent to watch

I used to run an engine test facility that was originally designed for Merlins. There was one tucked away for the occasional demonstration. I wonder where that went when the company went bust and the site sold off.

I think that would be Caroline Grace. That Spitfire was found in boxes and big lumps somewhere in Glasgow by her husband Nick who then restored it.

He died so she learnt to fly it. Has'nt James May been for a spin in it with her?
