Hi, now before anyone says it, i'll get in there first... :D I have searched at length on this subject on here and armed with that info have narrowed down my choice to what's below. Loads of good threads out there but i'm just wanting to make sure i've made sense of them correctly and I just wondered if you guys could confirm ive made the right choice as this is all a bit new to me.

Bike - 07 sK6 pointy
Rider - 5' 8" tall, 12 stone in gear

Front forks - k tech .85 springs, silkolene pro rsf 10w oil
Rear shock - 06/07 zx10r #465 spring rate, 8mm longer than stock

I'll be stretching myself money wise for the above, so emulators will have to wait until funds permit unfortunately.
Air gap on front forks - manufacturers recommended or other?

I know you must be sick of answering this topic AGAIN but any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I agree with your fork set as it's what I run, with standard air gap (+ Debrix). Can't comment on rear as have Nitron

Debrix emulators are the way forward. I think someone said a guy on ebay sells them for about £40 a pop.

Yep, I hear they're great. Springs, oil & shock all the budget will allow at this moment in time. Defo on the 'to do' list though.
Anyone of a similar weight to me (12 stone/ 165lb) fitted the zx10r shock and been happy with it?

Have to say that the emulators are probably worth having before the shock if your budget is limited. I changed my (good) standard to a Nitron first and didn't really notice a difference (in normal riding). Changed the forks to K-Tech and emulators and it was 'oh my God' what an amazing difference!
Maybe the shock change makes more of difference to heaver guys on old curvies or track days or something, just not for me (great colour though :) )

Gonna be taking pillion now & again, so that's the reason im doing shock (apart from the fact stock one is carp). Good to know emus make a big difference though. They will defo be next on the list. Cheers

I think Barwell (ex sv owner) have had zx10r shock on his k3 and he was very happy with it ( he was on a heavy side if I remember correctly ;) sorry barwell)

These zx10r shocks (06/07) are like buses. Waited ages and then two came along at once. Managed to end up with both due to not cancelling bidnip snipe on the eBay auction before it ended. Luckily a reasonable price so not a disaster. I'm in possession of one & the second is due to arrive on Friday.
I'll be choosing the one in better nick & posting the other up for sale on here by the weekend. Got a spare kwak bottom bolt & nut too so anyone interested keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section over the next few days.

Right, I've now got both so I'll decide which one I'm keeping and post the other in for sale section by the weekend. Whichever one I sell will come with the bottom bolt needed.

I looked on ebay as suggested but couldn't find any...... have you got a link to wherever you've seen them at this price, would be interested.

As promised, I've posted shock in the for sale section. There was nothing to choose between them so I'm selling the one on the right which includes linkage and bottom bolt etc.

YC I'd be interested in the emu's you're selling mate. Will they work well with the items listed in the op? (.85 ktech & 10w oil, 12 st rider). Cheers

Huge thanks must go to YC who has fitted the emulators, k tech springs & new oil, Aswell as doing the mods to the damper rod needed for the emulators. From posting YC the forks to getting them back was just a week!!
Anyone thinking of doing similar upgrades, I can highly recommend you speak to Yorkie Chris for a cracking service.
Just need to get them back on the bike now (he says, putting on his overalls)...

Forks refitted, along with the zx rear shock.

WOW! Massive difference already. Needs setting up properly but already I can notice a dramatic improvement. Much more planted and confidence inspiring.

Best £300 I've spent in ages

Just recieved the Nitron Street myself today, getting .85 springs and I will be ordering DEBRIX EMULATORS

http://www.debrix.com/41mm-Fork-Damp...t.htm?CartID=1 (http://www.debrix.com/41mm-Fork-Damper-Valve-2000-up-Harley-FXST-Softail-p/24-0361-vt.htm?CartID=1)

I will order them on the 30th November.

So anybody wanting to tag on to this order let me know!

More peeps = bigger discount!

[Rods being modified for the Emu's by YC (cheers)]

Hi People, little update. So as well as myself there are 6 others at the moment on my list looking for the Debrix Emulators;

Prisspringle
disco
BigshotPie
TicklinJock
Redmist
Chris SVK3

These are the emulators we're talking about:

http://www.debrix.com/41mm-Fork-Damper-Valve-2000-up-Harley-FXST-Softail-p/24-0361-vt.htm

The problem in buying a single pair from Debrix is the UPS priority shipping / postage charge from the States - it's much more than the price of the emulators themselves. Group Buying works by spreading the cost of postage between everyone until it becomes relatively cheap.

I said I would be putting in the order at the end of the month, and I will. However I cannot say how much this will cost until I know how many people are in. I guess on the 30th I'll confirm numbers (and therefore cost) then PM you all for confirmation. Does this sound fair? That way I won't keep getting asked how much its gonna cost.

Cheers

Kenny
