If they were Tim you wouldn't have been able to marry your lovely wife ;)

I have three daughters - I have always said I would quite happily have swapped all three of them for 30 boys the same as my son. I so dearly love them all to bits, but christ do they drive me mental with their irrational thoughts and actions. My son, on the other hand, is the most calm, chilled and loving person who does what he needs to do with the minimum of fuss and drama.

There is little I can add to this thread except to say that I am just glad that I learned to swim at an early age. However, I now know what my Dad was upto! ;-)

Oh yes can empathise Tim! I've got three daughters, and if it wasn't for my bike, the gym, and alcohol, I think I would have been sectioned many years ago!! Haha x

Of course they should, or sent away only to return when they're married and dependent on someone else.

Ahh. the nub of my daughter issues. They keep returning sans husband or prospect thereof.

Solved your own problem, Tim.
When she moves out to be with her next catch, you do the same but, whatever you do, don't leave a forwarding address.

Offer a large dowry in cash, share options in Shell Oil or Nectar Points.

Simply Divorce her... or put her up for adoption :0)

my ex should have been.i wont disagree with that one,ive/weve got 2 sons and a daughter when they were say under 16 i would say the daughter was less trouble, but this is now reversed and the boys look after them selves but the daughter is forever broke need i say more, they never ask there mother for help, its aways good old dad

I don't like girls myself, too much hassle, they wear pink, and you have to play with their hair, buy them barbie dolls, then theres 'wimmin things' boyfriends, babies..........

My eldest never did the pink thing, or the Barbies. I once caught her changing out of a skirt and into trousers at the bus stop on her way to school when she was about 11. Caz was in to playing outside and doing practical stuff, not make up and crap like that. She's still very feminine, as anyone who's met her will testify, but she's not flouncy and soft in the head like some girls. My other two girls... well, there's no bloody hope for them now kids have either been sprogged or implanted.

My daughter is 15 and awesome.

They certainly come with a larger bag of issues than boys and you get the feeling they really think you are a burden to them at times, but I wouldn't swap her for anything. She doesn't do pink (you're more likely see her in a Nirvana or Iron Maiden t-shirt) and never liked dolls and always been a daddy's girl so maybe that's the difference. She's a sweetie though. Getting her a first MX bike at the moment - DRz125.

Put it like this. I was so relieved when they both went home last night. They are not little girls, they are grown women with their own lives and careers etc. I don't mind (too much) being nagged by the wife, but not by a guest in my own home.

If they are going to be moody, sulky and downright nasty why don't they stay home. I wouldn't mind the eldest is an honourable bloke when it comes to going on the football as we don't allow wives/girlfriends. Yet she can go with us as she is a fan. She drives me to the pub and picks me up etc. Sends me texts to say thank you for stuff. Then suddenly she switches and becomes a right b1tch. I give up they do my head in. My lad starts every day as a new day. He was the first to leave despite being the youngest and only asks for stuff if really in need and usually too late.

So it's like having a racing 2 stroke vs a road going 4 stroke ;)

I've only got the one so can't compare but it sounds like the classic man issue - trying to fix problems when women don't want to fix it, just moan/bitch. Let it all go over your head

NO! We have 2 lovely daughters who are young women now. Both very good to both me and mum. Like all kids we have had issues but nothing silly. Both like bikes, youngest into pink and Hello Kitty in a big way:) They do put me right at times, but probably need it! Kids wether boys or girls have issues that can drive you mad. Depends which you prefer to deal with. All part of lifes rich tapestry.

Only had one for 8 weeks, so my advice on parenting fits on the back of a postage stamp!

Tim looks up to me as a source of constant inspiration.
I'm certain of it.
He just doesn't want to say it and give me a big head. ;)
