Thought I'd finally get the coolant changed on my K1. Definitely overdue. After getting covered in coolant (half asleep and I'm used to having a drain plug facing down, not sideways!), I went to flush the reservoir. Disconnected the overflow pipe from the radiator neck, had it hanging down to drain and nothing came out. When I poured some water into the reservoir filler cap, it didn't drain either.
Anyway, eventually disconnected the rest of the overflow pipe from underneath the reservoir and then it all came ****ing out over everything, including my shoes. Not sure if the pipe was blocked, or just too old and bending it down somehow blocked it, but it needs to be replaced. I have two questions ...
1. Can I buy any old silicone radiator hose and bend it into the tight u-bend required, or do I need to buy one with a bend in it already to avoid kinking/blocking the hose?
2. Should I be replacing all the hoses at the same time? I've not had any overheating problems, so I assuming the cooling system is working ok, but not sure if one dodgy hose means I should be replacing them all.
Cheers!
