My next odd idea has arrived.
You can post up to 2 songs that you think people should listen to. Songs that you think are either under appreciated or perhaps from a band who aren't that big yet. I spent 10 minutes this morning watching Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing live as it was posted on Reddit and thoroughly enjoyed it so anything goes.
My first two are from (relatively) new bands, I've only recently discovered both so they are new to me at least.
Awolnation, they made the song "Sail" that accompanied the video of the base jumper "grinding the crack". I was told they were a one hit wonder but after getting their album I like quite a few tracks so here is my most played song by them:
Awolnation - Burn It Down
XcClvRt9g2Q
And Twin Atlantic, I really like scottish bands it seems, Biffy Clyro being my current favourite but Twin Atlantic seem to be a younger version and it is nice to be liking them a bit earlier in their career (namely as the concert tickets are dirt cheap ;)) (Make a beast of myself has recently hit the radio 1 playlist I noticed so I'm not posting that)
Twin Atlantic - Edit Me
kqL0aS_p2bM
I'd have liked to have posted "We want better man" as it's an awesome song but perhaps not the best introduction to the band. 'tube it if interested of course.
Take it away with any other suggestions or ridicule of my musical tastes ;)

Never knock a person's musical tastes, they're theirs and are as justified as the next persons...
Here's my 2 songs, 2 very different bands
Passafire - Dimming Sky
Here's an Acoustic version of a great song, just to give an example of the bands skills, they're a nice sound for the summer (if it arrives) and I have all thier albums, they're ace, top 5 band for me. Check out some more of their music on youtube! Mostly Rock Reggae if there is such a genre...I don't think many know of their music even though they've released a few albums now.
puhOQ-nMI0Q
Hybrid - Break My Soul
This group is more electronic/drum & bass but with some nice ambient orchestral sounds and gorgeous singing, nice turned up loud, gives me chills! Again not sure of how well known they are but very well put together modern music IMHO

Theres just so much to choose from my musical repertoire! Anything from goth to death, to pyschedelic, jazz, blues.......so
First one would be this...............just awesome, and thats it!
Freeeeee the mind maaaaaaaaaaaaan :p Listen on headphones if you can!

JOKn33-q4Ao
And this, as I'm really into their album at the moment. Something I tune the vocal chords with around the house. However what isn't on it, and should be is a beautiful cover of Sades No ordinary Love. I love this track, and lyrics <3

'20 years' from the album would have been next, these people just have some beautiful harmony in their voices, and the lyrics are simply gorgeous too! Words I can relate to....which is what a song is all about. I missed out last month seeing them live :(
WHY only two......theres way too much in my head to choose from!
First one is an old one...
Anne Clark - Wallies
zvjsUA-Acac
and my second is my All time Fav.
Talk Talk - It's My Life

Loving that Twin Atlantic track Brettus!!
Excellent, glad it is of some use then. I'm listening to the tracks posted now. I've just hit play on the Seven Deadly track, quite like it
Favourite so far has to be the New Cassettes, closely followed by the Passafire track, funky and I quite like that.
I had to abort the Hybrid one as it isn't my kind of music but I'm already 3 new bands up on where I started so thank you Org!
update: Lawnmower Deth got aborted but I like a live band to have a sense of humour so bonus points for that.
Funkadelic - Aborted but only due to time constraints, I can imagine that making quite nice background music, not my main taste but one I could get on with.
Civil Wars - Playing at the moment, quite liking it, not a fan of many female vocalists but that is pretty nice.
Nice choices there Richie, hadn't heard the Anne Clark, very... crescendal (that should SO be a word)
Thanks for the input everyone. I know what I'll be doing in my downtime at work tomorrow, thanks for spending more of my money guys ;)

A couple of really mellow ones for you
Firstly "Honey Be Good" by The Bible. They were a great, if short lived band and this briefly failed to trouble the charts.
http://youtu.be/QyDpuR8BMSg
"Beloved Wife" by Natalie Merchant brings tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful song about loss and sums up how I'd feel if anything happened to Mrs DJF

Put only the code, in this case: LY2kOD4E2KQ between the two youtubes with the [ ] brackets round them.
So it would look like this: [Yoooutube but spelled right]that code up there[/Yooooutube but spelled right]

At this point, may I suggest folks might like to pop into the Essex Lounge momentarily, to look at the Peace and Lurve thread, which incidently began life in my darling Pegasus' head..........read between the early posts, and a love story unfolds ;), since it has become a drop in centre for all musical tastes.
...somewhere around page 16 to 20 onwards.

You might need a week to read and listen to whats on offer though

Love the clash and the stranglers, (saw the stranglers at Triumph Live a couple of years ago, brilliant!)
I've got a very wide musical taste and the original request was 'underappreciated' so I think I'll go with a couple of randoms that I've been listening to recently

This has probably been one of my most difficult posts ever but eventually I've picked two tracks;
I was going to pick 'Time has told me' by Nick Drake as its a song I go to when I want to run away and hide (felt that way this morning) but instead I've gone for the second track off 'Five Leaves Left' and picked 'Riverman' I love it because its the song that introduced me to one of the best song writers I know. God bless you son.

Second track is just because Alison Mosshart does it for me and she was great with Jack White so I've picked 'I'm mad' by The Dead Weather... GO ALISON!!!

Nick Drake is one of the few things that isn't my collection as its a pleasure when I hear it.

I'd thought about putting 'Solid Air' on just because its John Martyn's song written to Nick. then thoiugh about 'I'd rather be the Devil' just for the guitar... I think all in I've written up feelings on about 10 different songs on and off before plumping for these two....
And OH MY do I fancy Alison Mosshart!!! Can't put my finger on why it is though, she intrigues me... Don't worry Mrs Chucca knows and about that Dannii Minogue who just won't stop calling me, doesn't matter how many times I tell her its not happening again...
