I'm soon to do my DAS and an SV650 is the route I'm taking...I'm sure you'll approve!

I've got a question though...

I know there's the curvy & pointy variants, but I don't quite get the deal with the fairing.

I've always been a fan of supersport bikes, looks mainly being the selling factor!

I've found this pic of an SV...

the fairing is very sharp and seems to be one full unit, however this one differs with a curvier shape

Can anyone explain the difference to me?

Many thanks

John

I believe the bottom pic is a pointy with standard pointy lower fairing and the top pic has a completely non-standard front end. Couldn't tell you which bike it's from.

Hi John and good luck with das. To me the blue fairing looks aftermarket and splits about halfway down i cant find a make yet but will keep looking. The black is the oem afaik k8 svs sports model. HTH

Right i think its looking like the blue aftermarket fairing is the KG http://kgcycles.com/SV_products2.htm one. Picture is of 1000 but they do 650 too. HTH

Yes blue is aftermarket two piece. There are some other fairing that can also fit the pointy. I've recently seen one with a KTM RC8 fairing. The black fairings, IMO, did not come with the bike and was purchased after.

Wicked, cheers for the info guys! It's either one with that kit on it or a naked...I do admire the half fairing/other full fairing but it's not to my taste.

Will update you on how the DAS goes, it's the weekend after the Jubilee...fingers crossed!

Thank you! This four day weekend will likely fly by and then, before I know it, it'll be next Saturday and I'll be zipping round on a bigger bike doing my DAS. Can't. Bloody. Wait!:D
