View Full Version : Help! Stock can, indicators and other bits needed, Sv650 K9 black

Hi All,

I ride a fully faired full black 09 plate K9 SV650 S, having saved forever and a day to buy it! Got great support on this forum when I bought it, so its my first port of call in my time of need.

Had a disastrous week, binned my pride and joy as I left bright sunshine going into a dark, wet tunnel and I hit an inconveniently placed rock in the middle of the road (about the side of a fist!), I was sliding before I knew why

:(

It broke my right hand and ripped my gear, but more importantly, it broke the right lower fairing that forms part of the belly pan in half, the right front indicator is scratched badly, as is the: right brake lever, right bar-end and the nose fairing is scratched on the right edge but fixable at a bodyshop.

The stock can is also scratched up (end can only ), and the mounting point for the right crash bung (an S shaped metal bracket underneath the fairing) bent a lot when the bung took the hit so needs to be replaced.

One minute a show room clean, pampered bike, next minute she's all beat up.

If anyone has the parts described below (most are the stock parts that people whip off immediately: stock exhaust, chunky right indicator, etc) knocking around in the garage give me a shout

- right black bar end
- stock exhaust can - sourced. Thanks Icanopit!
- front brake lever - bought from Ian505050
- front right indicator (black with clear front plastic)
- right hand side lower fairing in Pearl Nebular Black (YAY) that clips to the other side at the front of the belly

[SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]If anyone is looking to get shot of their stock parts they have taken off I will happily pay postage costs and/or pay for the parts as I really cant afford to go to Suzuki.

Thanks all!!

Lee

To get your stock end can off you're gonna have to cut it so you may aswell consider an aftermarket slip on.
Sorry to hear about your spill, glad you're ok.

As in your other post, the fairing is Pearl Nebular Black (YAY) - http://www.globalsuzuki.com/motorcycle/moto/street/sv650/99999-A0112-191.pdf.

Right front indies are now numerous on eBay for good prices (whereas I had to buy stock when I crashed).

Agreed with the above, get a new slip on. I'd also take the opportunity to upgrade the levers. I know you don't have much money and if you're patient (i.e. willing to wait) you'll get some parts for cheap. But any improvements you can make now will be worth it in the long run.

Good luck.

Thanks dkid413, If anyone has a connecting sleeve knocking around in the garage they would sell and a standard can I strike that one off the list and get cutting

I have a standard can off a K3 but not sure if it is the same as a K9. It looks like new and if it fits you can have it for £30 plus postage.

Thanks for the offer Al,

can anyone confirm that a K3 end can is the same as the K9 end can?

looking on ebay at stock cans they all seem to be listed as fitting 99-02 or 03> so i'd say they are probably the same mate.

Halfway there, levers, mirror, exhaust, fairing hanger and crash bungs sorted.

- lower right h/s fairing in Pearl Nebular Black (YAY) suitable for a K9 650 S
