View Full Version : Reeder - email from his family

I have just received a very kind email from Andrew's parents Kate and Peter thanking me for the donation I made via the funeral directors to the Air Ambulance, and also for the letter I asked to be fowarded to them, which said how many of us were looking forward to meeting Andrew face to face at this year's AR and how much we miss his banter, derailing of threads, box on head photos and other general zany-ness on the Org.

They said, 'Andrew is desperately missed, and we are lost without him. There is a huge gap that will never be filled. We can't believe this has happened.'

So for all those coming to AR, shall we raise a glass to him at the start of the BBQ? And perhaps those who are not there can have a quiet moment at about 8pm on Saturday 9th June, to remember at least one occasion when one of his posts made you laugh out loud.

I only exchanged a few messages with the guy as I am still relatively new, but definitely think he was worthy of a raised glass. :)

I hope you can all give a good moment of thought for him and his family. It must be such a terrible terrible time for them.

Thank you for sharing.

Just a thought on seeing this.

How about getting a few photos of said toast at the BBQ or a video of it happening with a few peoples comments about how much he made us laugh then sending it to Reeders parents.

They have asked for details of the AR such as time and location.

I take it this is still going to happen. I'm all set to be raising my glass at 8 with you lot even though I'll be nearly 400 miles away.

I'll be cooking tea for Mrs DJF and I at 8 tomorrow (Sat night is grown-up night when we eat after the boys have gone to bed) but I'll be doing a Floyd and and have a glass of wine on the go. It will be raised.

Although I'm not going to the AR as I'm racing at Brands, At 20:00 I will get the team to raise their bottles (some are bikers) along with everyone else and pay our respects.

Just because your gone doesn't mean you're forgotten

Sometimes I think that a quite thought for someone is just as important as a noisy one, please all raise a noisy glass and enjoy, as a mother I will raise a quite one and think of his mother.

I will be raising a glass at 8pm along with everyone else

Sorry I can't share the sentiment with everyone else because work beckons on Sat and Sunday, but I will be at home raising a glass on my own.
