My alternative plan

1) See Slash on the Wednesday night before Download.
2) Go to AR
3) On the Monday, Attend the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards (http://goldengods.metalhammer.co.uk/awards/breakthrough-artist), starting with a pre-Awards party on a boat on the Thames, then off to the O2 where Anthrax, Biohazard and others await.

Thank the gods for friends that win competitions then can't actually use the prizes themselves :)

Got asked if I wanted to go to Cokdplay last night. As it happened, I spent the evening stuck in a traffic jam, which was preferable.
