Hey all, I'm sure there are a number of threads concerning this topic, but I thought I may as well start a new one...
So... who has experience of selling their own photos?
I keep getting told, mainly from the family, with some conviction, that I should sell my photography...
I'm not sure its that good, but would very much welcome some advice on how you'd go about selling it..?
Cheers all, and I'll try and get the "portfolio" up on Photobucket soon!

Think I recommended a site to MrC after seeing some of his work, but at the moment I can't remember the name.
Proper site, pictures are watermarked so difficult to pinch

One of the first rules of selling your images is to supply only what the company/agency/library wants, have a look here for a bit of info

Good luck :D
First build a website, and have a strong portfolio.
What sort of photographer are you people, product, place? When you have that nailed then you go scout agencies in that area.
I would say though that putting your work on istock etc just isnt worth it, you get pennies for what you should be getting £ for. You also then loose control over your images and find your work being put onto things that you might not have intended them for or agree with.

It was http://www.shutterstock.com
I haven't used it yet tbh, you have to submit your pics then write a load of stuff for each one, I got bored & left it. :)

Picturenation is like that, its mostly tags so that search engines can find them, ive had a couple of rejections of stuff because of not enough info supplied but once I added a bit more wording they went through ok.
