Right contract up for renewal. I've got a HTC desire at the moment and its very good. However things have moved on and strangely everything has got bigger.

So I'm looking at the galaxy s3 and software wise it ticks all the boxes but it doesn't feel like the quality item I think it should. So I'm looking at a iPhone 4s and I love the fact every bugger (apart from me) has a speaker dock so its good for party's. But the software and hardware isn't anywhere nearly as good as the Android stuff.

So what do I do? I would have jumped at the s3 but its a lot of brass for something that doesn't feel any nicer than my 2 year old desire. Then again if I get a iPhone ill become a bigger c0ck than usual and have a phone with rubbish software to boot!! Any suggestions ? It's got to be on Orange so that's a 2 year contract!! Don't know what to do...

Whatever you do don't get the Lumia 800. As new phones go it's smaller and the tiles are great, it feels nice but the batter life is appalling. I have to spend most of the time with it plugged into the mains. Orange have agreed to change it for a Galaxy S2 after I pointed out it wasn't 'fit for purpose' as a mobile should be just that, and not need to be only metres from the plug in the wall at all times.

If you get the 4s you will be disappointed about the screen size.

I am awaiting my s3 and can't wait to finally have a large screen to look at as I have had the iPhone 4 for the last 2 years and a 3G previously.

I went from desire to sensation XE, and ignoring the silly beats audio branding (tho the free headphones are actually really good), the phone is really good, and really fast with the dual core processor. Obviously still has the smoothness of HTC sense rather than than plain old android. Had it about 6 months now and cant fault it.

Got to be Android.....

I got a Samsung Note a few months back, big screen took some getting used to but I think it has more pros than cons and am very pleased...awesome for internet and media use and now has ICS on it (update rolled out Friday)...just starting thinking of tablet based mode use (if I can sort it out, early days though)...

Samsung s3 is bloody amazing. My better half got hers yesterday and it even makes my xperia s look old fashioned. It's stunning

Probably in a minority here but I really like my iPhone 4s.

Does everything I want, syncs perfectly with the iMac (android/windows phones don't/won't despite what the spotty oiks in the shop say) and I actually like the fact that it isn't mahoosive.

Oh, and Siri is kinda cool :-)

Yea price is ok. Just want something that's going to make me happy so to speak. The HTC x one is better put together but you can't change the battery so its s none starter

We have Motorola Defy +, don't get them, mine is fine, DJ's will only talk to the network sometimes, my Dad's won't let you end a call. One out of three works properly, pretty bad hit rate if you ask me.

i have the original Defy and it is absolutley super.

Upgrade time and I am shocked with the physical size of the new handsets. What gives...I would like the latest but I need to grow bigger hands.

The HTC one X looks good and quad core sounds so nice. Thinking about the new Razr too.

Got a samsung Galaxy s2, does everything you need a phone to do, had it a year now, no problems, much better than a fruit product, same here, not even looked at 3 yet.

The Razr is still only a few months old!

It is astonishing to think that even the Razr is now junk in comparison to the latest quads. Although me thinks that in the real world quads and dual cores more bluster than capability.

One killer is battery life. Especially now phones have non replaceable ones. The Razr maxx wins here but it has just been made available in the UK so still pricey and no network carries it so has to be bought unlocked. The original Razr is available on tesco mobile for some reasonable tarrifs for free.

Everything Samsung I have bought turns to dust so the Galaxy S3 is no interest and the Apple 4S is outgunned by the One X. If you're happy with HTC then the One X is a simple buy and isn't that pricey for a new phone. I will go Razr because I go Motorola.

If you like sense, your have a bit of adjustment to get on with samsungs OS.
Got to say even a wildfier feels better quality than this S2.

the rzar is old hat out of the box so im 2 years time its going to be well past its sell by date. at least the s3 and onex are newer.

the one x has a shorter batterlife than the s3 and no user changable battery so it kind of rules it out (ive got 3 batterys for the desire! although i cant find one!)

i agree the s2 is a good phone but it feels cheap in comparison to my htc. as does the s3 :(

The One X will be obsolete by Christmas. Any 2 year contract means 2014 and by then we will have phones that are mega core and levitate.

Me woman wanted an iPhone but got a HTC Incredible S instead. And all ya hear is how she wants an iPhone and the Incredible S has not been reliable. So slightly biased against HTC while my Motorola has been rock solid although the battery is now well past its bedtime.

Like most things best advise is to buy what you really want and hope it works out.

But right now this very moment....One X is the daddy.

I've got a One X, and the battery life outstrips the Desire by some margin - had to put it on charge after a day of Music + GPS over bluetooth, then acting as camera and video camera while I was at the TT, and the odd phone call too.

Totally agree - I love my Galaxy Note - all other phones are just too small now - anyone who thinks its too big is just WRONG!

A One X with battery life? Superb.

The galaxy note is small by water buffalo standards

From reviews I read the Galaxy battery is superior to the One X and is removable.

I have had a go on the Galaxy and it is good. The extra battery life and removable battery plus micro sd card means it is the phone I now intend to get. I would have bought the razr but now i can't.

I can confirm the above is true! Tapatalk is also much easier to use on android!

I think it's new phone time for me also!
I have the iPhone 4 currently and my home button just suddenly doesn't work! I've found a way around it but it still bugs me and I've researched into it and apparently it's a common fault. I took my phone apart and there's so many parts you have to strip off JUST to get to the home botton..

Currently looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note
So snazzy :smt007
