Welcome to the nicest forum on the web. If you are in the market for a nice bike, you wont go far wrong with an SV, I have had mine for a while now, starting restricted and now full power. I love my bike, it rides lovely and is also great fun to work on.

Welcome Sam, as others have said, good first bike, cheap insurance, loads of bits around etc.

Your dad obviously has the right idea though ;)

Welcome to the forum, you won't go wrong if you get an sv!!! And I'm sure you will find riding safer than your time in afghan, stay safe.

Welcome. This place is a bit of a loony bin, but as Jayneflakes says, it's a nice friendly loony bin. And a helpful one if your bike ever breaks or you want to make the bike a bit more funky and you just can't choose which shade the rim tape should be;)

So now we're going to get the TRUTH about Joe!

He didn't bring you a grenade home from the army and tell you to hold it between your teeth and pull the pin out, did he?

Welcome to the forum Sam do you own a Lambo and drive it slowly?

SV is a great first bike and as you like projects is also a great bike to be buying. You can improve the SV in anyway you like, its a good start to the biking world.

Nah, sorry to say southern softies are not at the top of my list, after all despite their faults. They are not cheese eating surrender monkeys.
